The short version
Sumform for iPhone and Apple Watch has no Sumform account, advertising, advertising profile, or cross-app tracking. We do not sell personal information. Your gameplay works locally, and the app does not send gameplay or diagnostic data to a Sumform-operated server.
Data on your device
The apps store puzzle history, results, stars, times, streaks, statistics, tutorial state, and preferences on your Apple devices. The iPhone store is shared with the Sumform widget through Apple’s App Group system, while Watch results can synchronise to the paired iPhone through Apple’s device services. You can reset iPhone progress from the app’s Progress & Settings control. Sumform records only bounded operational messages in Apple’s local system log; those messages exclude puzzle contents, saved records, account identifiers, URLs, and personal text.
Apple services
If you use iCloud, Sumform mirrors its local progress store to Apple’s iCloud key-value service so your Apple devices can reconcile progress. If you use Game Center, the app submits your maximum streak, total numbered puzzles solved, and earned streak achievements to Apple. These services are optional and never block the game. They are controlled by your Apple account and processed by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy.
Website and analytics
The website is hosted by Vercel, which may process standard request and security logs such as IP address, browser details, requested page, and timing. We use Vercel Web Analytics for anonymous, aggregate page-view information and Vercel Speed Insights for anonymous performance measurements such as route, browser, device type, country, network speed, and Web Vitals. We do not configure custom analytics events. These tools do not use third-party cookies or identify visitors across websites. See Vercel Web Analytics privacy and Speed Insights privacy.
Browser-local state used by interactive parts of sumform.app remains in your browser unless you clear it. Website analytics are separate from the iPhone and Apple Watch apps and are not included in either app binary.
When you contact us
Sumform has no support form. If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you choose to include. We use it to answer your request and maintain necessary support records. Please do not send passwords, Apple account details, or other sensitive information.
Use, sharing, and retention
We use the limited information described above to operate, secure, measure, improve, and support Sumform. Our basis is our legitimate interest in providing and maintaining the app and website and responding to enquiries. Information is processed only by service providers needed for those purposes. Information may be processed by Apple, Vercel, and our email provider for the functions described above and under their applicable terms. We do not use it for automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
On-device data remains until you reset it or remove it through iOS. Apple controls retention for iCloud and Game Center. Vercel retains aggregate analytics according to the service plan and its policies. Support correspondence is kept only as long as reasonably needed to answer the enquiry, maintain support records, or meet legal obligations.
Your controls and questions
You can reset Sumform progress in the app, manage iCloud and Game Center through Apple Settings, and clear website data through your browser. Sumform cannot access or delete information held in your Apple account.
For questions or concerns about information controlled by Sumform, email hello@sumform.app. If we cannot resolve a data-protection concern, United Kingdom users may contact the Information Commissioner’s Office.
We may update this notice when Sumform’s functionality or service providers change. The date above identifies the current version.
